1913 Gu Lang Yu (鼓浪屿) is local Singaporean brand, that specialises in festive Chinese goodies, such as barbecued sliced pork (a.k.a. Bak Kwa).
The brief was to create a brand identity that evokes both traditional and contemporary nuances of Chinese culture .
The eventual visual language that we created was one that paid homage to chic Shanghai from the 20s/30s, whilst incorporating classic visual elements such as Chinese calligraphy strokes and paper cut-outs.
